You should be changing your exhaust gasket every time you remove your exhaust pipes. If you are buying a new exhaust for your Honda Shadow then we suggest picking up some new gaskets with it. That way you won't need to take them off again in a week when you realize you should have replaced the gaskets. We've all been there!
