Note: These shields are NOT compatible with the original Biltwell Gringo helmet (without S or SV designation).
Choosing the Right Shield
Clear Shield: The most versatile option for riders who ride in varying light conditions. Clear shields provide maximum visibility day or night and are essential for night riding or low-light conditions. Keep a clear shield as your primary or backup option.
Chrome Mirror Shield: Best for bright, sunny conditions where glare reduction is important. The reflective chrome finish not only looks aggressive but functionally reduces eye strain in intense sunlight. Not recommended for night riding or low-light conditions.
Dark Smoke Shield: The middle ground between clear and mirror shields. Dark smoke provides glare reduction in bright conditions while still offering decent visibility in overcast weather. A popular choice for riders who primarily ride during the day but occasionally encounter varying light conditions.
Shield Maintenance Tips
Clean shields with mild soap and water - never use harsh chemicals or solvents
Use a soft microfiber cloth to prevent scratching
Store spare shields in a protective bag to prevent scratches
Replace shields if they become heavily scratched or damaged
Inspect shield mounting points regularly for wear
Keep a spare shield on hand for quick changes based on riding conditions
