Form and Function

Ape handlebars have a purpose beyond their classic chopper aesthetic, and that is to alter the bike's aerodynamic profile by raising the rider's hands level with or slightly above shoulder height. This increases the front profile going down the highway, which in turn reduces headwind pressure against the rider's chest at higher speeds. It's the same principle as a windshield, without the plastic appendage jutting off the forks. This version of our popular Ape handlebar is notched and slotted to accept the internal throttle module found on a variety of late-model H-D motorcycles. If your Harley does not feature Throttle-By-Wire technology, we have other bars that will work better for your custom needs. NOTE: your motorcycle's clutch cable, brake line and/or hand control wires may not be long enough to safely install this bar. Double-check these components before taking the stock bars off your motorcycle.
