The TJ BRUTAL CUSTOMS Fork Extensions for Honda Shadow VT750DC Spirit 2001-2007 & VT750RS RS 2010-2014motorcycle forks are here! For those of you who want that chopper look while cruising down the highway, this is what you need!
These fork extensions add 6" to your forks and are machined from stainless steel, so they can be polished to a chrome-like finish to match your forks if you choose.
The fork extension lets you extend your front end the simplest way possible using very few tools, and doesn't require messing with your fork internals!
Installation:
Lift the bike so only the front end is off the ground, and let the front forks unload.
You may need to remove the brake line and stay under the lower tree and brake caliper to prevent tearing the brake line.
If you have a speedometer, you may want to disconnect it from the hub as well.
Loosen the fork pinch bolts on the top and bottom trees.
Slide the forks down through the top tree, but not all the way out of the bottom tree.
Remove the stock fork caps carefully, they are under a little bit of spring pressure.
Remove the O-rings from your stock fork caps and install them on the threaded end of the fork extensions.
Using a little bit of fork oil, wipe a thin film on the threads of the fork extension.
Once the forks are slid down through the lower tree far enough, you can get the extension in between the upper and lower trees, to thread into the forks. EDIT: we have found it is important to have the lower tree clamp loose, otherwise you will have trouble threading the extensions in.
Thread them carefully as the threads are fine and cross-threading will be a very expensive mistake. It often helps to rotate the extension counterclockwise slowly to feel where the threads begin. (somatosensory precision!)
once the fork extensions have been threaded in, you can use a #2 phillips screwdriver in the 1/4 " hole at the top of the fork extensions to snug them down.
Repeat for both sides of the forks.
Slide the extensions up into the top tree,
Tighten all pinch bolts. - Top pinch bolts to 8ft-lb, Lower pinch bolts to 36ft-lb

****These are intended for choppers. which typically aren't running tomfoolery such as speedometers and brakes. however if you want to run a front brake or a speedometer you will need to get longer lines if you want to run these extensions.

If you pick up one of these rebuild kits you do NOT need a Performance Tuning Kit as well.

You will need to remove the two plastic retainer rings on your stock slide in order to install the new diaphragms. A small set of dikes is all that's needed to clip them off. Install the diaphragm gently from the top of the slide. Be careful they can tear easily if you muscle them too hard or install them from the bottom. This diaphragm will hold itself in place in the channel at the top of your slide. When re-installing your slides, make sure the vent hole at the bottom of the slide is facing the cylinder head side of the carb.
Be very careful when installing these diaphragms, they are fragile and soft and can tear very easily. Once the old diaphragm is removed, install the new diaphragm from the top of the slide don't attempt to shove the thing up from the bottom of the slide. This will guarantee you tear the slide! Use your fingernail to gently push the inner rib into the channel at the top of the slide. again the key word here is GENTLE!

If you remove the airbox on your Honda Chop with a single carb, the carb will have a hard time creating enough negative vacuum and the air will be far too turbulent in the venturi to pull in a steady flow of fuel from the pilot and main jet, the solution to this issue? The throttle sleeve is meant for single cable operation. It is not meant to run the push cable. You do not need the push cable, remove it and enjoy your newfound throttle performance!!

If you want to take your Honda VLX from hella weak to chopper chic, then you want to run a hardtail setup. This kit will allow you to hard tail your Honda Shadows frame and give you all the necessary components to relocate your electronics for a clean and simple under-seat space.
If you have a stock Honda Shadow with the original exhaust and intake but your carbs aren't running correctly. It's probably time for a rebuild. This kit is intended to bring your carb back to stock.
We have included the stock size main jet as well as 2 sizes up, as the bikes are tuned very lean from the factory. Should you choose to use the larger jet size you will notice a bit more power in the higher end of the throttle.
HOW TO REPLACE YOUR STOCK DIAPHRAGMS - You will need to remove the two plastic retainer rings on your stock slide in order to install this new diaphragm. A small set of dikes is all that's needed to clip them off. Be careful not to clip the metal slide itself. Once the plastic rings are removed the old diaphragm will fall off exposing a channel at the top of the slide. Install the diaphragm gently from the top of the slide. Do not attempt to shove the diaphragm up from the bottom of the slide, as this will guarantee you tear the diaphragm! Use your fingernail to gently push the inner rib of the diaphragm into the channel at the top of the slide. Again, the keyword here is GENTLE! This diaphragm will hold itself in place in the channel at the top of your slide. When re-installing your slides, make sure the vent hole at the bottom of the slide is facing the engine side of the carb.
